Privacy Policy

1. Introduction

Hey there! Thanks for checking out Optix. We’re a cool company from the US that makes awesome stuff to make building websites super easy and fun. Before you start using our services, make sure to read our Terms and Conditions and Privacy Policy. You gotta agree to both of them to be able to use our cool stuff.

2. Definitions

In this Agreement, we might use some words or phrases that you need to know the meaning of. But remember, this list doesn’t include everything, and you shouldn’t think that any definition is so important that it makes this Agreement not make sense.

3. Data Collected

Data Storage Location

We’re a company from the good ol’ USA, and we use web servers that are only located in the US. Our hosting provider, WPEngine, follows this thing called the EU/US “Privacy Shield” to make sure your data is kept safe and follows the rules of GDPR. If you want to know more about how WPEngine handles privacy, you can check out their privacy policy here: WPEngine Privacy Policy.

Registration Data

So, if you sign up on our website, we keep track of the username you pick and your email address. We might also save any other personal info you add to your profile. The cool thing is, you have the power to check out, change, or even delete your personal info whenever you want (except for your username, sorry!). Just so you know, the people who run the website can also see and make changes to this info. you can check out their privacy policy here: WPEngine Privacy Policy.

Purchase Data

Hey there! If you want to make changes to this text, just click on the edit button. To get help with a product, you need to sign up and enter one or more Envato purchase codes on our website. We’ll keep these codes safe along with the dates when your support will expire and your user info. This is super important because it allows us to give you access to downloads, product support, and other cool stuff for customers like you.

Support Data

Hey there! So, if you signed up on our website and have a legit support account, you can totally ask for help by submitting support tickets. These tickets go to this cool system called HelpScout, which is like a third party that helps us out. Don’t worry, only the info you give us is sent, and we always ask for your permission before creating a new support ticket.

Comments

When you write comments on the site, we gather some information. This includes the stuff you type in the comments form, like your name and message. But we also collect something called an IP address and a browser user agent string. Now, an IP address is like a special code that helps us know where the comment is coming from. And a browser user agent string is just a fancy way of saying we can tell what kind of device or web browser you’re using. It’s all to make sure everything runs smoothly and to keep the site safe.

When you use your email address, it gets turned into a secret code called a hash. This code is used to check if you have a Gravatar account. If you do, your picture might show up when you leave a comment. But don’t worry, you can read all about how Gravatar keeps your information private in their privacy policy. Once your comment is approved, everyone can see your profile picture along with what you wrote.

Contact Form

When you send us a message using the contact form on our website, it goes straight to our company email, which is hosted by Gmail. Just so you know, Google follows this thing called the EU/US “Privacy Shield” policy.

Just so you know, the stuff you send in is only kept to help out with customer service. No worries, it won’t be used for any marketing stuff or shared with anyone else. It’s all about making sure you’re taken care of!

Google Analytics

We have this cool thing called Google Analytics on our website. It helps us keep track of how people use our site, but don’t worry, it doesn’t store any personal information about you. If you want to learn more about it, just check out the next section.

4. Website Analytics (Google Analytics)

This website has this cool thing called Google Analytics. It’s like a tool that helps the people who run this website understand how it’s doing. Google Inc., which is this big company in California, is the one who runs this tool. Their address is 600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA.

When you use this website, Google Analytics uses cookies to check out how you’re using it. Cookies are like little pieces of information that help track what you do on the site. They send this info to Google’s servers in the USA and keep it stored there. The people who run this website want to understand how you use it so they can make it better for you and show you ads that you might like. This is all allowed under a rule called Art. 6 (1) (f) of the EU’s GDPR. If you want to know more about cookies, you can check out the Cookies section in the Privacy Policy.

This cool website also uses Google Analytics to find out stuff about the people who visit it. It can tell us things like how old they are, if they’re a boy or a girl, and what they’re interested in. But don’t worry, it doesn’t know who you are personally. It just looks at general information from Google and other websites. If you don’t want this feature, you can turn it off on your own Google account or choose not to be tracked by Google Analytics on this site. We’ll show you how to do that.

If you want to know more about how Google Analytics deals with your information, you can check out Google’s privacy policy. We really care about your privacy, so we’ve made sure to take extra steps to protect the data we send to Google Inc. You can see what we’ve done below.

We really care about keeping your personal stuff private, so we’ve done some things to make sure your info stays safe when it’s sent to Google Inc. Check it out below!

Data Processing Agreement

So, guess what? We made a deal with Google Inc.! It’s all about handling data that we send to them. This deal is super important because it makes sure we follow the rules set by the US, EU, and other data protection authorities when we use Google Analytics. Cool, right?

IP Anonymization

On this website, we have this cool thing called Google’s IP anonymization feature. Basically, what it does is it makes sure that your address is kept super duper private. As soon as the data is collected, this feature kicks in and makes your IP address all anonymous. It happens before any storage or processing happens, so your full IP address is never saved on the computer. Pretty neat, right?

The IP anonymization functionality in Analytics replaces the last octet of IPv4 user IP addresses and the final 80 bits of IPv6 addresses with zeros in memory shortly after transmitting them to the Analytics Collection Network.

Google utilizes masked IPs to assess the usage of websites, generate reports on website activity, and offer additional statistical data.

Opting Out Of Google Analytics

Browser Settings

By adjusting your browser settings, you can typically avoid the storage of Analytics cookies. However, it’s important to note that this may result in a limited experience of the website’s full functionality.

Browser Plugin

Google provides a browser plugin that conveniently blocks the transmission of data from Analytics cookies to the Analytics Collection Network. You can download the plugin here: Google Analytics Opt-out.
