Yativo now enables platforms to collect payments from – and send payouts to – 20 African countries, with instant USDC settlement on every transaction. One API. No local entities. No FX complexity.
MARCH 25, 2026
Africa has always been hard to build payments for. Not because the market isn’t there – it clearly is – but because the infrastructure to access it has been fragmented, slow, and expensive.
Every country has different rails. Mobile money dominates in East Africa, bank transfers in West Africa, and every market has its own compliance requirements. For most global platforms, building payment infrastructure across even a handful of African countries meant months of work, multiple banking relationships, and ongoing regulatory complexity.
Today, that changes.
| Sub-Saharan Africa processed over $700 billion in mobile money transactions in 2023. For most global platforms, accessing this market has been out of reach – until now. |
What We’re Launching
We’re announcing two products today, designed to work together:
- Africa Onramps – Collect payments from clients across 20 African countries. They pay in local currency. You receive instant USDC settlement.
- Africa Offramps – Send payouts to recipients across the same 20 countries. You send USDC. They receive local currency, directly to their bank account or mobile wallet.
Both products are live today, available via the Yativo API, with no setup costs and no minimum volumes.
20 Countries, Live Today
Africa Onramps and Offramps launch with coverage across 20 countries:
- Nigeria
- Ghana
- South Africa
- Kenya
- Rwanda
- Uganda
- Tanzania
- Senegal
- Cameroon
- Côte d’Ivoire
- Benin
- Botswana
- Burkina Faso
- Congo
- DR Congo
- Gabon
- Malawi
- Togo
- Zambia
All 20 markets support local payment rails – including mobile money networks (M-Pesa, MTN Mobile Money, Airtel Money), local bank transfers, and cash-based payment methods. USDC settlement is instant across every market.
How Africa Onramps Work
An onramp converts local fiat into USDC. The flow is simple:
- Integrate once via the Yativo API. Single integration covers all 20 countries.
- Generate a payment link or invoice. Your client receives a localised experience in their currency and payment method.
- Client pays via local rails. M-Pesa, MTN Mobile Money, bank transfer – whatever works in their country.
- You receive USDC instantly. Funds arrive the moment the local payment confirms. No waiting. No FX exposure.
Platforms can also issue invoices directly to African clients via the Yativo dashboard or API. When the client pays, USDC lands instantly – no manual reconciliation, no FX delays.
How Africa Offramps Work
An offramp converts your USDC into local fiat and delivers it to your recipient. The flow:
- Integrate once via the Yativo API. One API call handles payouts across all 20 countries.
- Specify recipient details and USDC amount. Provide recipient name, bank or mobile money details, country, and amount.
- Yativo converts and routes. Our stablecoin-powered FX engine converts USDC to local currency at competitive rates.
- Recipient receives local currency instantly. Funds arrive in their bank account or mobile money wallet in their local currency.
Who Is This Built For?
Africa Onramps and Offramps are designed for platforms – any business that manages payments on behalf of users or clients across borders.
- Global SaaS platforms with African clients who pay in local currency
- Payroll and contractor payment platforms sending earnings to African workers
- Marketplaces collecting from African buyers and paying African sellers
- Remittance and FX platforms building Africa-to-global corridors
- Fintechs and neobanks adding Africa payment capabilities to their product
- B2B businesses with invoice-based payment flows to or from African counterparts
- Any platform building embedded finance products for African markets
Why Stablecoin Settlement?
Traditional cross-border payments to and from Africa suffer from the same problems: slow settlement, high FX costs, and unpredictable failure rates.
By settling in USDC, Yativo eliminates the FX layer entirely. Your funds are stable, instant, and portable – you can hold USDC balances, convert to any currency via our Treasury product, or use them to fund outbound payouts. No nostro accounts. No correspondent banking delays.
| With Yativo’s Africa rails, a Nigerian client can pay an invoice in Naira and the receiving platform can hold USDC – or convert it to EUR, USD, or any other currency – in seconds. |
