Your Amsterdam supplier wants euros in their ING IBAN today. Your dollar wire left on Monday, and by Thursday it is still stuck with a correspondent bank.
SEPA payouts to the Netherlands with stablecoin settlement close that gap. You fund in EURC or USDC, lock a quote, and your recipient gets euros (EUR) in their bank account over SEPA.
Cross-border money still matters here. Netherlands received about US$4.7 billion in personal remittances in 2024, according to World Bank data.
Across SEPA, Instant Credit Transfers already made up 30.7% of SCT volume in Q3 2025, with nearly 2,800 scheme participants. This guide covers why the Netherlands payouts stall, how the stablecoin-funded flow works, and which IBAN details you need.
Why Paying Out in Netherlands Is Harder Than It Should Be
Netherlands’s domestic SEPA rails are mature and widely available. The friction sits at the border, where a foreign payment meets currency conversion, intermediary banks and incomplete IBAN data.
Small cross-border transfers are expensive. Sending small amounts abroad costs an average of 6.36% of the amount sent, according to the World Bank. On a US$20,000 monthly contractor payroll, that average would cost you US$1,272 every month. We break down more of these costs in the hidden costs of international payments.
Inbound wires get converted on the bank’s terms. A dollar wire to a euro account is converted at whatever rate the receiving bank sets that day. Your recipient sees the final amount only after the money lands.
Correspondent chains add days. A SWIFT payment can pass through one or more intermediary banks before it reaches Amsterdam, Rotterdam or Utrecht. Each hop can deduct a fee and add a day.
The IBAN and BIC have to be exact. A transposed check digit or the wrong BIC is the fastest route to a rejected SEPA credit and a week of emails.
SEPA Payouts to Netherlands with a Stablecoin Layer: How It Works
Yativo is payment infrastructure, not a bank. We use stablecoins as the settlement layer between your balance and the Netherlands. A licensed local payout partner then delivers the euros on the SEPA rail.
- You fund your Yativo float balance with a fiat or stablecoin deposit, such as EURC or USDC.
- Yativo converts the payout value and settles it on-chain with stablecoins.
- A licensed local payout partner in the euro area receives the stablecoin settlement.
- The partner converts to EUR and sends a domestic SEPA credit to the IBAN.
- Your recipient receives euros in their normal bank account.
Your recipient does not need a crypto wallet. They never see or touch stablecoins. On their side, the payment looks like any SEPA credit from a local euro sender.
EU rules also pushed Instant Payments wider in 2025. Euro-area payment service providers had to receive SCT Inst by January 2025 and send by October 2025. For more on the settlement layer, read how to receive international payments in stablecoins.
Supported Payout Rails for Netherlands
Yativo’s featured method for this guide is Bank SEPA (NL). Our Netherlands list also includes a POBO local option and SWIFT for dollars.
Bank SEPA (NL)
SEPA Credit Transfer moves euros between participating banks across the Single Euro Payments Area. SEPA Instant is the same scheme family with near-real-time credits when both ends support it.
Required details: the fields returned by the Netherlands payout form, gateway ID 1229. Expect the holder’s legal name, an IBAN starting with NL and often a BIC.
Settlement time: featured Bank SEPA (NL) payouts via Yativo settle in under 30 minutes.
Best for: suppliers, agencies, contractors and payroll recipients who bank in the Netherlands.
SEPA Instant availability
SEPA Instant is the fast path within the SEPA scheme when both banks support it. Featured Bank SEPA payouts via Yativo still settle in under 30 minutes. Confirm Instant methods on your account with the live payout list.
POBO and USD alternatives
POBO (Local), gateway ID 1093, is a pay-on-behalf-of local option that settles next business day (T+1). If your recipient wants dollars instead of euros, use SWIFT, gateway ID 679. Availability depends on your account, so check the live list before you build.
Related euro corridors use the same playbook. See our France SEPA guide and Germany SEPA guide once you expand beyond the Netherlands.

Recipient Details to Collect Before Your First Netherlands SEPA Payout
The Netherlands payout form in your dashboard, or the authenticated GET /beneficiary/form/show/1229 call, is the authoritative field list. Our public documentation does not publish this form yet. Collect the details below during onboarding so you can fill it without a round of emails.
- Holder type: individual or company.
- Legal name: full name as it appears on the national ID or passport, or the registered company name (for example matching the KvK or BTW records).
- IBAN: Netherlands IBAN starting with NL (18 characters), copied from a bank statement or banking app.
- BIC (SWIFT code): the bank’s BIC when the form asks for it.
- Address: street, city and country if the form requires a beneficiary address.
Ask for a screenshot of the IBAN screen from the bank app during onboarding. It removes most typing errors before the first payout. Common banks include ING, ABN AMRO or Rabobank.
How to Send a SEPA Payout to Netherlands via Yativo
Option 1: Dashboard (for manual payouts)
- Fund your Yativo float balance with either a fiat or a stablecoin deposit, such as EURC or USDC.
- Go to Transfer in your Yativo dashboard.
- Select the float wallet you are paying with, for example EUR, USD or whichever balance you funded.
- Choose the customer you are paying on behalf of. This step is necessary for fintechs that run payouts on behalf of their customers.
- Choose Netherlands as the destination country and the Bank SEPA (NL) payout method.
- Enter the recipient details the payout form asks for, such as the holder’s name, IBAN and BIC.
- Enter the amount in USD or EUR.
- Review the quote: exchange rate, fees, delivery time and the exact EUR amount your recipient receives.
- Confirm with your PIN and 2FA.
- Track the payout in real time and download the receipt for your records.
Option 2: API (for automated and bulk payouts)
Every endpoint below is in the Yativo API documentation. Production calls go to https://api.yativo.com/api/v1, and the sandbox runs at https://smtp.yativo.com/api/v1.
Authenticate every request with the X-Api-Key and X-Api-Secret headers. Each key only works from the server IPs listed on it. These API keys replaced bearer tokens, and login tokens stop working from servers on October 15, 2026, as covered in our October update. Every POST request also needs a unique Idempotency-Key header.
Step 1. Generate an EURC funding address on Solana to top up your float (USDC_SOL also works):
POST https://api.yativo.com/api/v1/crypto/create-wallet
X-Api-Key: $YATIVO_API_KEY
X-Api-Secret: $YATIVO_API_SECRET
Idempotency-Key: a1b2c3d4-5e6f-4a7b-9c0d-1e2f3a4b5c47
Content-Type: application/json
{
"currency": "EURC_SOL"
}
Step 2. List the payout methods available for Netherlands:
curl "https://api.yativo.com/api/v1/payment-methods/payout?country=NLD" \
-H "X-Api-Key: $YATIVO_API_KEY" \
-H "X-Api-Secret: $YATIVO_API_SECRET" \
-H "Accept: application/json"
Bank SEPA (NL) is active and carries gateway ID 1229. Always read the ID from the live response instead of hardcoding it.
Step 3. Fetch the required fields for that gateway:
GET https://api.yativo.com/api/v1/beneficiary/form/show/1229
X-Api-Key: $YATIVO_API_KEY
X-Api-Secret: $YATIVO_API_SECRET
The response lists every required field and the accepted values for each one. Build your payment_data object from it. For field details, see API documentation.
Step 4. Create the beneficiary. Replace the placeholder with the fields the form returned:
POST https://api.yativo.com/api/v1/beneficiaries/payment-methods/
X-Api-Key: $YATIVO_API_KEY
X-Api-Secret: $YATIVO_API_SECRET
Idempotency-Key: b2c3d4e5-6f7a-4b9c-0d1e-2f3a4b5c6d47
Content-Type: application/json
{
"gateway_id": 1229,
"nickname": "Amsterdam Logistics BV",
"currency": "EUR",
"customer_id": "e8caa491-57b6-4c39-9e3a-d2c97e47fbf0",
"payment_data": {
"{field_from_form}": "{value}"
}
}
Step 5. Optionally, lock your rate. Quotes hold for 5 minutes:
POST https://api.yativo.com/api/v1/exchange-rate
X-Api-Key: $YATIVO_API_KEY
X-Api-Secret: $YATIVO_API_SECRET
Idempotency-Key: c3d4e5f6-7a8b-4c9d-0e1f-2a3b4c5d6e47
Content-Type: application/json
{
"from_currency": "USD",
"to_currency": "EUR",
"method_id": 1229,
"method_type": "payout",
"amount": 5000
}
Step 6. Initiate the payout from your float balance:
POST https://api.yativo.com/api/v1/wallet/payout
X-Api-Key: $YATIVO_API_KEY
X-Api-Secret: $YATIVO_API_SECRET
Idempotency-Key: d4e5f6a7-8b9c-4d0e-1f2a-3b4c5d6e7f47
Content-Type: application/json
{
"debit_wallet": "USD",
"amount": 5000,
"payment_method_id": 6047,
"customer_id": "e8caa491-57b6-4c39-9e3a-d2c97e47fbf0",
"quote_id": "4a72ecf8-6c8a-4e38-9971-8aabe9f785ed"
}
Use the id from the beneficiary response as payment_method_id. Leave out quote_id if you did not lock a rate. For bulk runs, repeat the call per beneficiary, as described on our payouts page.

Best Practices for Netherlands SEPA Payouts
Validate the IBAN before you create the beneficiary. Netherlands IBANs start with NL and are 18 characters. A single wrong digit fails the payout.
Match the legal name to the account holder. Mismatches between the registered name and the IBAN owner are a common reason for returns.
Prefer SEPA Instant when both banks support it. The Instant scheme credits within seconds at the rail, which helps urgent supplier payments.
Lock the rate on large payouts. Exchange-rate quotes hold for 5 minutes, so lock one for payroll runs and large invoices. You then know the exact euro amount before you confirm.
Reuse one Europe playbook. The same stablecoin settlement flow works across other SEPA corridors. Start with France SEPA guide or Germany SEPA guide, and read how to receive international payments in stablecoins.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does my recipient in the Netherlands need a crypto wallet?
No. Your recipient gets euros in their normal bank account. They never interact with stablecoins, and the payment arrives as a domestic SEPA credit.
Is it legal and compliant to pay recipients in the Netherlands this way?
Yes, when the payout runs through regulated infrastructure. Yativo is registered with FinCEN as a Money Services Business, registration number 31000270723339. A licensed local payout partner makes the domestic SEPA delivery, so your recipient sees a normal euro credit. Your own tax and reporting duties still apply, so confirm them with your compliance advisor.
How long does a SEPA payout to the Netherlands take?
Featured Bank SEPA (NL) payouts via Yativo settle in under 30 minutes. On the rail itself, SEPA Instant can credit in about ten seconds when both banks support it. Standard SEPA Credit Transfer can take longer on banking days.
Is SEPA Instant available for the Netherlands?
The Netherlands features Bank SEPA (NL) as the local euro rail in this guide. Check the live payout methods list for any Instant options enabled on your account. Featured Bank SEPA (NL) payouts via Yativo settle in under 30 minutes.
Can I pay on behalf of my customer (POBO)?
Yes. POBO (Local), gateway ID 1093, is a pay-on-behalf-of local option for the Netherlands that settles next business day (T+1). Use it when your compliance setup needs POBO labeling. It is not an under-30-minute rail.
Can my recipient receive US dollars instead of euros?
Not through this SEPA rail, which delivers EUR. For dollars, use SWIFT, gateway ID 679, which pays USD. Availability depends on your account, so check the live payout methods list.
Start Paying Out in Netherlands in Euros
Netherlands took in about US$4.7 billion in remittances in 2024, and SEPA Instant already clears about three in ten SEPA credit transfers. Yativo lets you fund in EURC or USDC and deliver EUR to IBANs in the Netherlands through a licensed local payout partner. Your recipients get a domestic SEPA credit in under 30 minutes, and you get one API for every payout.
