Your US contractors expect Friday payroll in their checking accounts. Your finance team is still exporting a CSV for the bank, hoping the ACH file clears before the weekend.
ACH payouts to the United States with stablecoin settlement replace that file dance. You fund in USDC or USD, confirm a quote, and a licensed local payout partner credits the recipient’s US account over the ACH Network.
The ACH Network is how most US salaries already move. Nacha reports 35.2 billion ACH Network payments in 2025, valued at US$93 trillion, or about 141 million payments a day. Same Day ACH alone reached 1.45 billion payments worth US$3.92 trillion.
This guide covers why ACH payouts from abroad still stall, how the stablecoin-funded flow works, and which ABA details you need. It then walks through your first ACH payout by dashboard and by API.
Why ACH Payouts to the United States Are Harder Than They Should Be
ACH reaches nearly every US bank and credit union account. The hard part is originating those credits from a balance that sits outside a US bank’s ACH origination desk.
Cross-border ACH is not a button on most banks. Many offshore banks will only offer a SWIFT wire into the US, even when the final credit could have been a domestic ACH. That adds days and correspondent fees. The World Bank still puts the average cost of sending small amounts abroad at 6.36% of the amount sent.
File errors create silent failures. A wrong ABA, a truncated account number or a mismatched name can return the credit days later. Ops then rebuilds the batch under pressure.
Same Day ACH has rules and limits. Nacha raised the Same Day ACH per-payment limit to US$1 million in 2022, and volume keeps climbing. Your partner still has to originate correctly for the credit to land when you expect.
POBO ACH is a different clock. Payment-on-behalf-of ACH methods settle next business day (T+1). Local ACH payouts on Yativo settle in under 30 minutes. Do not mix the two in one SLA.
ACH Payouts to the United States with a Stablecoin Layer: How It Works
Yativo is payment infrastructure, not a bank. We use stablecoins as the settlement layer between your balance and the United States. A licensed local payout partner then originates the ACH credit on the ground.
- You fund your Yativo float balance with a fiat or stablecoin deposit, such as USDC.
- Yativo converts the payout value to USDC and settles it on-chain.
- A licensed local payout partner in the United States receives the stablecoin settlement.
- The partner converts USDC to US dollars and originates an ACH credit to the recipient’s ABA routing number and account number.
- Your recipient receives dollars in their normal US bank or credit union account.
Your recipient does not need a crypto wallet. They never see or touch stablecoins. On their side, the payment looks like a domestic ACH credit.
Nacha notes that about 93% of American workers already receive pay through the ACH Network. Your payout can land in the same channel. For more on the settlement layer, read how to receive international payments in stablecoins.
Supported Payout Rails for the United States via ACH
Yativo’s featured ACH method for this guide is Faster Payments (ACH), gateway ID 1372. Your account may also show ACH 760 or ACH 194. Always read the live ID from the payout methods endpoint.
ACH (USD)
ACH is the United States batch payment network governed by Nacha. It moves direct deposits, bill payments and B2B credits between US financial institutions.
Required details: the fields returned by the United States payout form for gateway ID 1372. Expect the holder’s legal name, the 9-digit ABA routing number, the account number and the account type.
Settlement time: featured ACH payouts settle in under 30 minutes.
Best for: payroll, marketplace sellers, gig payouts and recurring supplier credits.
POBO ACH (T+1) and other options
POBO ACH methods (gateway IDs 895 and 896) settle next business day (T+1), not under 30 minutes. Use them when your compliance flow requires a POBO label.
Your United States list also includes SWIFT (gateway ID 745). Sibling rails are covered in our Fedwire payouts to the United States, Visa Push-to-Card payouts to the United States and local bank transfer payouts to the United States.
Recipient Details to Collect Before Your First ACH Payout
The payout form for gateway 1372 is the authoritative field list. Our public API documentation does not publish that form yet, so read it from your dashboard or from the form endpoint shown below.
- Holder type: individual or company.
- Legal name: full name as it appears on the bank account.
- ABA routing number: the 9-digit US routing number for ACH.
- Account number: the full deposit account number.
- Account type: checking or savings.
- Contact details: email and phone for receipt confirmation.
Collect a voided check or bank app screenshot during onboarding. It removes most ABA typing errors before the first batch.
How to Send an ACH Payout to the United States via Yativo
Option 1: Dashboard (for manual payouts)
- Fund your Yativo float balance with either a fiat or a stablecoin deposit.
- Go to Transfer in your Yativo dashboard.
- Select the float wallet you are paying with, for example USD, EUR, MXN or whichever balance you funded.
- Choose the customer you are paying on behalf of. This step is necessary for fintechs that run payouts on behalf of their customers.
- Choose the United States as the destination country and the ACH payout method.
- Enter the recipient details the payout form asks for, such as the holder’s name, ABA routing number, account number and account type.
- Enter the amount in USD.
- Review the quote: fees, delivery time and the exact USD amount your recipient receives.
- Confirm with your PIN and 2FA.
- Track the payout in real time and download the receipt for your records.
Option 2: API (for automated and bulk payouts)
Every endpoint below is in the Yativo API documentation. Production calls go to https://api.yativo.com/api/v1, and the sandbox runs at https://smtp.yativo.com/api/v1.
Authenticate every request with the X-Api-Key and X-Api-Secret headers. Each key only works from the server IPs listed on it. These API keys replaced bearer tokens, and login tokens stop working from servers on October 15, 2026, as covered in our October update. Every POST request also needs a unique Idempotency-Key header.
Step 1. Generate a USDC funding address on Solana to top up your USD balance:
POST https://api.yativo.com/api/v1/crypto/create-wallet
X-Api-Key: $YATIVO_API_KEY
X-Api-Secret: $YATIVO_API_SECRET
Idempotency-Key: e5f6a7b8-c9d0-4123-e456-789abcdef101
Content-Type: application/json
{
"currency": "USDC_SOL"
}
Step 2. List the payout methods available for the United States:
curl "https://api.yativo.com/api/v1/payment-methods/payout?country=USA" \
-H "X-Api-Key: $YATIVO_API_KEY" \
-H "X-Api-Secret: $YATIVO_API_SECRET" \
-H "Accept: application/json"
Faster Payments (ACH) is active and carries gateway ID 1372. Your account may also return 760 or 194. Always read the ID from the live response instead of hardcoding it.
Step 3. Fetch the required fields for that gateway:
GET https://api.yativo.com/api/v1/beneficiary/form/show/1372
X-Api-Key: $YATIVO_API_KEY
X-Api-Secret: $YATIVO_API_SECRET
The response lists every required field and the accepted values for each one. Build your payment_data object from it. For field details, see API documentation.
Step 4. Create the beneficiary. Replace the placeholder with the fields the form returned:
POST https://api.yativo.com/api/v1/beneficiaries/payment-methods/
X-Api-Key: $YATIVO_API_KEY
X-Api-Secret: $YATIVO_API_SECRET
Idempotency-Key: f6a7b8c9-d0e1-4234-f567-89abcdef1202
Content-Type: application/json
{
"gateway_id": 1372,
"nickname": "Northside Payroll LLC",
"currency": "USD",
"customer_id": "e8caa491-57b6-4c39-9e3a-d2c97e47fbf0",
"payment_data": {
"{field_from_form}": "{value}"
}
}
Step 5. Initiate the payout from your USD balance:
POST https://api.yativo.com/api/v1/wallet/payout
X-Api-Key: $YATIVO_API_KEY
X-Api-Secret: $YATIVO_API_SECRET
Idempotency-Key: b8c9d0e1-f2a3-4456-b789-abcdef123404
Content-Type: application/json
{
"debit_wallet": "USD",
"amount": 12000,
"payment_method_id": 7202,
"customer_id": "e8caa491-57b6-4c39-9e3a-d2c97e47fbf0"
}
Use the id from the beneficiary response as payment_method_id. Your dashboard quote shows fees and the exact dollar amount before you confirm. For bulk runs, repeat the call per beneficiary, as described on our payouts page.

Best Practices for ACH Payouts to the United States
Validate ABA and account numbers before the first batch. One bad row can return after you already told the contractor they were paid.
Use ACH for volume, Fedwire for urgency and size. Keep both playbooks ready and document when finance should switch rails.
Label POBO ACH as T+1 in your SLA. Local ACH settles in under 30 minutes. POBO ACH is next business day.
Keep USDBASE distinct from your USD float. Virtual account deposits use USDBASE. Payouts usually debit a USD (or other) float wallet.
Reuse beneficiary records. After the first successful ACH credit, store the payment method id and stop retyping routing numbers. The same habit helps when you pay contractors across LATAM.
Watch the cost of the old path. We break down wire markups in the hidden costs of international payments.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does my recipient in the United States need a crypto wallet?
No. Your recipient gets US dollars in their normal US bank or credit union account over ACH. They never interact with stablecoins.
Is it legal and compliant to pay US recipients this way?
Yes, when the payout runs through regulated infrastructure. Yativo is registered with FinCEN as a Money Services Business, registration number 31000270723339. A licensed local payout partner originates the ACH credit. Your own tax and reporting duties still apply.
How long does an ACH payout take on Yativo?
Featured ACH payouts settle in under 30 minutes. If you use a POBO ACH method instead, expect next business day (T+1) settlement.
When should I use ACH instead of Fedwire?
Use ACH for payroll, marketplace seller payouts and recurring supplier credits where a batch-style bank rail is enough. Use Fedwire when you need a high-value wire-style credit. See our Fedwire payouts to the United States.
Can I push to a Visa debit card instead?
Yes. Yativo also supports Visa Push-to-Card payouts to the United States when the recipient prefers a card credit. For a generic bank path, see local bank transfer payouts to the United States.
Do US virtual account deposits use the USD currency code?
No. United States virtual account deposits use currency code USDBASE. Keep that distinct from the USD wallet you debit for payouts.
