Your London supplier invoices in euros, not pounds. Their UK bank holds a EUR IBAN, and they refuse another dollar wire that lands short after correspondent fees.
SEPA payouts to the United Kingdom with stablecoin funding close that gap. You fund in EURC or USDC, lock a quote, and a licensed local payout partner delivers euros (EUR) to the UK IBAN over Bank SEPA.
The United Kingdom remains part of the Single Euro Payments Area for euro transfers. Across SEPA, Instant Credit Transfers already made up 30.7% of SCT volume in Q3 2025, according to the European Payments Council.
This guide covers why euro payouts into the UK stall, how the stablecoin-funded SEPA flow works, and which IBAN details you need. It then walks through your first payout by dashboard and by API.
Why SEPA Payouts to the United Kingdom Are Harder Than They Should Be
Paying a UK account in euros should be a domestic-style SEPA credit. The friction starts when your float sits in dollars or USDC outside the euro clearing path.
Small cross-border transfers are expensive. Sending small amounts abroad costs an average of 6.36% of the amount sent, according to the World Bank. We break down more of these costs in the hidden costs of international payments.
Dollar wires get converted on someone else’s terms. A USD wire into a UK EUR account often converts at an intermediary. Your recipient sees the final euro amount only after the money lands.
Correspondent chains add days. Each hop can deduct a fee and delay the credit past the invoice due date.
The IBAN and BIC have to be exact. A transposed check digit or the wrong BIC rejects the SEPA credit and starts a week of emails.
How SEPA Payouts to the United Kingdom with Stablecoin Funding Work
Yativo is payment infrastructure, not a bank. We use stablecoins as the settlement layer between your balance and the UK euro credit. A licensed local payout partner then sends the SEPA payment.
- You fund your Yativo float balance with a fiat or stablecoin deposit, such as EURC or USDC.
- Yativo converts the payout value and settles it on-chain with stablecoins.
- A licensed local payout partner receives the stablecoin settlement.
- The partner converts to EUR and sends a SEPA credit to the UK IBAN.
- Your recipient receives euros in their normal UK bank account.
Your recipient does not need a crypto wallet. They never see or touch stablecoins. On their side, the payment looks like any SEPA credit.
For more on the settlement layer, read how to receive international payments in stablecoins.
Supported Payout Rails for the United Kingdom in Euros
Yativo’s featured method for this guide is Bank SEPA (GB), gateway ID 1241. Always read the live ID from the payout methods endpoint.
Bank SEPA (GB): featured
SEPA Credit Transfer moves euros between participating banks across the Single Euro Payments Area. SEPA Instant is the same scheme family with near-real-time credits when both ends support it.
Required details: the fields returned by the UK payout form for gateway ID 1241. Expect the holder’s legal name, a UK EUR IBAN and often a BIC. For details, see API documentation.
Settlement time: featured Bank SEPA (GB) payouts via Yativo settle in under 30 minutes.
SEPA Instant note: Instant credits are near real time. Amounts above €100,000 use standard banking hours instead of Instant clearing.
Best for: UK suppliers, agencies and freelancers who invoice in euros and hold a EUR IBAN.
SWIFT in USD
SWIFT, gateway ID 593, pays USD to a UK account and settles next business day (T+1). Use it when the recipient wants dollars, not euros.
GBP sibling rails

Recipient Details to Collect Before Your First UK SEPA Payout
The UK payout form in your dashboard, or the authenticated GET /beneficiary/form/show/1241 call, is the authoritative field list. Our public documentation does not publish this form yet.
- Holder type: individual or company.
- Legal name: full name as it appears on the account, or the registered company name.
- IBAN: the UK EUR IBAN that will receive the SEPA credit, copied from a statement or banking app.
- BIC (SWIFT code): the bank’s BIC when the form asks for it.
- Address: street, city and country if the form requires a beneficiary address.
Ask for a screenshot of the IBAN screen during onboarding. It removes most typing errors before the first payout.
How to Send SEPA Payouts to the United Kingdom via Yativo
Option 1: Dashboard (for manual payouts)
- Fund your Yativo float balance with either a fiat or a stablecoin deposit, such as EURC or USDC.
- Go to Transfer in your Yativo dashboard.
- Select the float wallet you are paying with, for example EUR, USD or whichever balance you funded.
- Choose the customer you are paying on behalf of. This step is necessary for fintechs that run payouts on behalf of their customers.
- Choose the United Kingdom as the destination country and the Bank SEPA (GB) payout method.
- Enter the recipient details the payout form asks for, such as the holder’s name, IBAN and BIC.
- Enter the amount in USD or EUR.
- Review the quote: exchange rate, fees, delivery time and the exact EUR amount your recipient receives.
- Confirm with your PIN and 2FA.
- Track the payout in real time and download the receipt for your records.
Option 2: API (for automated and bulk payouts)
Every endpoint below is in the Yativo API documentation. Production calls go to https://api.yativo.com/api/v1, and the sandbox runs at https://smtp.yativo.com/api/v1.
Authenticate every request with the X-Api-Key and X-Api-Secret headers. Each key only works from the server IPs listed on it. These API keys replaced bearer tokens, as covered in our October update. Every POST request also needs a unique Idempotency-Key header.
Step 1. Generate an EURC funding address on Solana to top up your float (USDC_SOL also works):
POST https://api.yativo.com/api/v1/crypto/create-wallet
X-Api-Key: $YATIVO_API_KEY
X-Api-Secret: $YATIVO_API_SECRET
Idempotency-Key: 52a1b2c3-d4e5-4f60-a1b2-c3d4e5f60152
Content-Type: application/json
{
"currency": "EURC_SOL"
}
Step 2. List the payout methods available for the United Kingdom:
curl "https://api.yativo.com/api/v1/payment-methods/payout?country=GBR" \
-H "X-Api-Key: $YATIVO_API_KEY" \
-H "X-Api-Secret: $YATIVO_API_SECRET" \
-H "Accept: application/json"
Bank SEPA (GB) is active and carries gateway ID 1241. Always read the ID from the live response instead of hardcoding it.
Step 3. Fetch the required fields for that gateway:
GET https://api.yativo.com/api/v1/beneficiary/form/show/1241
X-Api-Key: $YATIVO_API_KEY
X-Api-Secret: $YATIVO_API_SECRET
The response lists every required field and the accepted values for each one. Build your payment_data object from it. For field details, see API documentation.
Step 4. Create the beneficiary. Replace the placeholder with the fields the form returned:
POST https://api.yativo.com/api/v1/beneficiaries/payment-methods/
X-Api-Key: $YATIVO_API_KEY
X-Api-Secret: $YATIVO_API_SECRET
Idempotency-Key: 52b2c3d4-e5f6-4071-b2c3-d4e5f607152a
Content-Type: application/json
{
"gateway_id": 1241,
"nickname": "London Euro Vendor Ltd",
"currency": "EUR",
"customer_id": "e8caa491-57b6-4c39-9e3a-d2c97e47fbf0",
"payment_data": {
"{field_from_form}": "{value}"
}
}
Step 5. Optionally, lock your rate. Quotes hold for 5 minutes:
POST https://api.yativo.com/api/v1/exchange-rate
X-Api-Key: $YATIVO_API_KEY
X-Api-Secret: $YATIVO_API_SECRET
Idempotency-Key: 52c3d4e5-f607-4182-c3d4-e5f607182b3c
Content-Type: application/json
{
"from_currency": "USD",
"to_currency": "EUR",
"method_id": 1241,
"method_type": "payout",
"amount": 4500
}
Step 6. Initiate the payout from your float balance:
POST https://api.yativo.com/api/v1/wallet/payout
X-Api-Key: $YATIVO_API_KEY
X-Api-Secret: $YATIVO_API_SECRET
Idempotency-Key: 52d4e5f6-0718-4293-d4e5-f607193c4d5e
Content-Type: application/json
{
"debit_wallet": "USD",
"amount": 4500,
"payment_method_id": 9052,
"customer_id": "e8caa491-57b6-4c39-9e3a-d2c97e47fbf0",
"quote_id": "4a72ecf8-6c8a-4e38-9971-8aabe9f785ed"
}
Use the id from the beneficiary response as payment_method_id. Leave out quote_id if you did not lock a rate. For bulk runs, repeat the call per beneficiary, as described on our payouts page.

Best Practices for SEPA Payouts to the United Kingdom
Validate the IBAN before you create the beneficiary. A single wrong digit fails the SEPA credit.
Match the legal name to the account holder. Name mismatches are a common reason for returns.
Watch the €100,000 Instant threshold. Above that amount, Instant uses standard banking hours. Plan large supplier runs for banking days.
Lock the rate on large payouts. Exchange-rate quotes hold for 5 minutes, so lock one for payroll runs and large invoices.
Offer a sterling fallback. If the recipient also has a GBP account, keep our UK GBP local bank transfer guide ready as a backup rail.
You can also use our Faster Payments deep-dive when you want scheme-level FPS detail.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does my UK recipient need a crypto wallet?
No. Your recipient gets euros in their normal UK bank account that holds EUR. They never interact with stablecoins, and the payment arrives as a SEPA credit.
Is it legal and compliant to pay UK recipients in euros this way?
Yes, when the payout runs through regulated infrastructure. Yativo is registered with FinCEN as a Money Services Business, registration number 31000270723339. A licensed local payout partner makes the SEPA delivery. Your own tax and reporting duties still apply.
How long does a SEPA payout to the United Kingdom take?
Featured Bank SEPA (GB) payouts via Yativo settle in under 30 minutes. On the rail, SEPA Instant can credit in seconds when both banks support it. Amounts above €100,000 on Instant use standard banking hours instead of Instant clearing.
What happens above €100,000?
SEPA Instant is built for instant credits. Payouts above €100,000 use standard banking hours rather than Instant clearing. Your quote still shows the expected delivery time before you confirm.
Can I pay the same UK recipient in pounds instead?
Yes. For GBP bank credits, see our UK GBP local bank transfer guide and our our Faster Payments deep-dive deep-dive. For card pushes in GBP, see our UK Visa Push-to-Card guide.
Can I send US dollars to a UK account?
Yes. SWIFT, gateway ID 593, pays USD and settles next business day (T+1). Use it when the recipient needs dollars rather than euros.
